Rudolph???

Aren't these four little Reindeer the cutest?

The Nativity

My girls LOVED the Nativity. They would ask a few times a week if we could go see it. My answer was always YES. I was happy that they were so interested in the True Meaning of Christmas. (Don't you Love the picture of them with the Palm Tree in the background?) Christmas was different this year. We didn't have snow.

O Christmas Tree

The girls had so much fun decorating the Christmas tree this year. Avery insisted on wearing her dress-up dress to decorate in. We have a MEMORY TREE, and yes Tyler makes fun of me all season about our memory tree, but I love it. All of our ornaments have meaning behind them. Tyler even had some from when he was little and HE LOVED IT. The girls had so much fun looking through all of the ornaments. The tree was great until about 11:30 p.m. that night when it FELL OVER. It took almost 2 hours too fix it. Funny now, but not so funny at 1:30 a.m. when it was finally fixed. And did I mention our tree died a week later? It stayed green, but if we touched it every needle would fall. Incase you were wondering, yes we were concerned about fire danger, but we made it.

Best Buds!!

My girls are so fun. They have really become bestfriends over the past year. They play all day long, with the occasional argument, but are very protective of each other. If Avery is getting in trouble, Adi will yell, "You be nice to my sister." A few weeks ago they were watching a movie before bed and when I went up to put them to bed, they had already fallen asleep together. It was so sweet.

I walked into Averys room and found them both in Averys bed reading books together. I felt bad when I automaticallly thought they were being naughty because it was so quiet.

Just Laugh

Sometimes all you can do is laugh at certain situations, especially when you child has no clue they have done or said something wrong. Tonight Avery and I had a little chat about SLAVES. Yes, SLAVES!!!!
I was in the kitchen making dinner, and apparently Avery wanted her basketball from upstairs. Instead of walking up to her room to get it, she said "Adison, go get my basketball." It was said VERY BOSSY and not a please was added anywhere in the sentence. I quickly said, "No Avery, Adison is not your slave, you can go upstairs and get your basketball." She then said, "Well then who is my slave?" Which I quickly said,"NOBODY is your slave Avery." She then said,"Wouldn't life be so much easier if we had slaves?"
We had a long conversation, in which I tried to explain slavery, which I would hope she got the point, but after some incidents today, I have a feeling that our whole conversation went in one ear and out the other.

Why is he different?

Last night we took the girls to see SANTA, pictures to come. Avery did great and told him she wanted a Glo-doodle and Chef Barbie. I sure hope she gets this Chef-Barbie thing out of her head soon, Santa has other ideas. Adi wouldn't go near him and had to be held the moment we stepped out of the car. He was a good Santa, but apparently he was a smoking Santa. I didn't get close enough to notice that, but Ty and Avery sure noticed.
Anyways, last night I was trying to put Avery to sleep. After an hour she was still wide awake, and I was a very frustrated MOMMY!! As we laid there, she finally spit out the question that had kept her mind going and thus keeping her awake. "Mommy, why was that Santas beard not curly and white and long like the one I saw on Satruday?" She had been thinking and thinking about that the whole time she was laying in bed. I explained to her that Santa has helpers everywhere so they can see all of the kids, blah, blah, blah!!!! Obviously, not a good enough answer, because she said, "I understand that he has helpers, but shouldn't Santa make sure they all dress alike and have the same COLORED beard, so kids don't get confused." Explain that one. I told her go to sleep and we would talk about it in the morning. I am still thinking of the answer to that question, and she has forgotten for the moment.

Finally Fall

My girls have been waiting and waiting for this day to come. To play in the leaves. They finally got their day in DECEMBER. Things are a little different down here in sunny St. George. Last Friday, Avery and Adison got to play with their cousins Madi and Maleea all day. They were getting a little stir crazy in the house, so we headed to the park. Lucky for us, the leaves were falling like crazy. These 4 little girls worked so hard to build their pile as high as they could. They ran all over the park and would run back with arm fulls of leaves. They were very worried about their pile, because a "MEAN MOM" (as they called her, and I agreed) let her kids knock there pile over, so I stood gaurd over the pile so that no big kids would knock it down. There were some older kids working on their pile and they were so cute to help my girls make their pile bigger and bigger. They had such a fun time. Their little faces were just lit up the whole time. I had such a fun time watching the 4 of them. It was actually really cold, and Adi had had enough, so I pulled the car right up to the older girls and Adi and I watched them. We came home and had yummy hot chocolate. (I have to remind myself to buy a bag of marshmallows.) We are so lucky to have such fun cousins that live so close.
