A Michigan Christmas

It has been forever since I have posted, and NO there is no pictures attached to this blog, sorry. Here is a break down of our Wonderful fun trip to Michigan for Christmas.

1. Well, lets begin with a SCARY/FUNNY event that happened right before we left. Tyler and I were both at work and my sister-in-law had my girls plus her little boy Luke. All I can say is poor Kristen. She could hear Avery kind of choking in the kitchen and went in there to find Avery kind of struggling. She finally got her to swallow what was in her mouth, which Avery announced was a QUARTER. Yes she knows better, but that is besides the point. Kristen called me all upset, and we got her into the DR. Working for pediatrician, I have seen this happen, and the kid has to have surgery to remove it. I don't think they delay flights for quarter removal. Anyways, Tyler took her in and they did X-rays. Avery called me with the news. "Mommy, the Dr. said I get to poop a quarter". Those were the best words I had heard all day. I will say that the process of watching for the quarter was not fun. Finally, a week and a half later while having dinner at my grandmas, we heard the announcement, "MOM, I JUST POOPED THE QUARTER!" It was a huge relief, and no we did not save it for scrap book reasons.

2. One of the biggest highlights of the trip was seeing our new niece/cousin Grace. She is gorgeous. We had so much fun watcing her grow up for a few weeks. She started smiling while we were ther. She looks just like her mom. My sister is such a cute mom. Great job Heather. (You're a great dad to Bernie)

3. Another highlight for me was our Christmas cookie day, which I usually miss now. My grandma and aunts all get together right before Christmas at my parents house and we all make different kinds of cookies and then divide them all up. It was fun.

4. The sunday before Christmas The Girls (meaning my mom, Heather, Avery, Adison, Grace, and I) went to Bronners, the biggest Christmas store in the US. We go every year. It was so fun. Avery loved it. That night Tyler and I and Heather and Bernie, went to our cousins house to have dinner with our cousins Jessica and her husband Paul and our cousin Al and her husband Nate. Jessie, Al, Heather, and I all grew up together, and have been close since. I wish we all still lived close. We had so much fun reminicing about the past. I don't think our husbands understand what we were laughing about all night.

5. Christmas eve/ Christmas Day was so much fun. We had the usual Christmas Eve get together at my parents house. Later that night, Avery was so excited to leave milk and cookies for Santa, and I was excited for all of the kids to get to bed so I could wrap and help wrap the enormous amount of gifts. The next morning we woke up to a mountain of gifts. Avery was excited to get her letter from Santa, and the reindeer named Prancer that he left her to take care of all year and the string of Jingle Bells that Santa forgot. I think this eased Averys mind about Santa, because she was terrified of him coming. We spent the morning opening gifts, and ofcourse my girls (everybody) was very very spoiled as usual. It was a very relaxing day!!!!

6. Avery had the best time with her uncles Jengiz(15) and Engin(13). They taught her a lot of dances, some good and some AHHH so so. I loved to watch her have so much fun with her uncles. She misses them so much. Her favorite dance is "Jump on Me" which she translates into "Shampony". No you can not correct her on the right words.

7. I hate living so far from my family, because I want my kids to know all of them so well, especially my parents. I hate that my family misses out on so much that they do, so when Adison started walking in Michigan I was so happy that my family got to witness such an exciting event. The girls had so much fun with there grandma and grandpa. They could do no wrong in there eyes, which allowed Avery to be as out of control as she wanted with unlimited treats. Adison really became attached to her grandpa. She had her first real tastes of icecream, diet coke, and OREOS!!!!!!!!

8. The Guys (meaning my dad, Tyler, Bernie, Jengiz, and Engin) had a fun/painful sledding trip. It was 11:00 P.M. so they were the only ones on the hill. My dad video taped the whole thing. The 4 guys found a little pool they all piled into and went down in, Jengiz popped one of the tubes, and they were all very very sore.

9. We had a little birthday dinner for Adison at Bennigans, where they sang to her and gave her yummy cake and icecream. It was so close to her birthday, so we had to have a party with my family.

10. The rest of the week was spent just relaxing and hanging out at home. We had a yummy dinner at my Grandma and Grandpa Kaisers in Millington, where we got to see aunts, uncles, and cousins. This allowed us to stop at the cemetary to visit my dads grave site, which is never very fun, but it had been a while. We also got to go to my Grandma and Grandpa Thomas' for a yummy breakfast(this has turned into a tradition). Another highlight was visiting my great-grandma for 5 generation pictures. It is neat that my girls have a great great grandma.
My sister was on maternity leave, so we hung out all day everyday. I think the employees at Begicks, the cutest little country store, got sick of seeing us on a everyother day basis. Thanks mom for getting us hooked. I love it.

It was a great trip all around and I can't wait to get back. I miss everyone so much. The only bad part of the trip besides leaving was my mom being sick the first part of the trip, and Avery throwing up the last week before we left with everything else that comes along with throwing up. Not fun. We were heatlthy for the long plane trip home, Tyler and Adison saved there throwing up for home. I hate leaving, but am so grateful for the wonderful family we have in Utah to come home to.
