New Years Eve

New Years Eve was so much fun. It was spent with Tylers parents, Tylers brother and his family and Tylers sister and her family. The first picture, which should have been the last, shows a very tuckered out Adison. Here are the highlights of our night.
-dinner with the family
-making masks with the kids
-playing the Wii
-celebrating by dropping balloons
-The "BALL" dropped for our party at 10:30 p.m.
I must be getting old, because by 10 p.m. I was so ready for bed.
It was a great night.

Celebrating Christmas AFTER Christmas

A few days after Christmas, my step-mom and sisters came to St. George to celebrate Christmas with us. Lucky for us, this year my Grandma Mohr was in town, so we were able to visit with her also. We loved having them here. My girls love having an aunt to is only 10 years old. Cassidy plays so well with them. She even baby sat for about and hour. We did some shopping and just visited. We had so much fun and it was hard to see them leave.
We are excited to have my sister Danielle move down here this summer. She will be attending Dixie state this fall. I can't believe she is old enough for college. It makes me feel so old.

Christmas Day

What a great great Christmas we had. I don't know what I was thinking, but the pictures I have on this post, are the only pictures I took on christmas day. I am so sad, but we did get lots of video. Santa came, and our girls were so spoiled, as usual. At 7:30 a.m., I finally gave in and LET Tyler wake them up. Avery was so excited and Adison was very annoyed that she was woken up. They headed down stairs and Avery was taking it all in. Adison stood there and pouted. It took her sometime to warm up to everything. Notice the picture of Avery alone. We spent sometime opening presents, and since we had nowhere to go, we took out time.
After presents, we made breakfast sandwiches. They were so good. I then attemped to make homemade cinnamon rolls, a tradition in my family, but it was a BUST!! They got too big while rising, and once in the oven GREW over the edge of the pan. They started a little fire in the oven, setting off the fire alarm. Avery was so scared she didn't know what to do. We hung out all day and played.
Tylers parents came down that afternoon and surprised us by bringing Tylers grandparents. We were all excited. We then headed over to Tylers brothers house for dinner. We had soup and sandwiches. The best part of the day was talking to Tylers sister Amy, who is serving a Mission in Sacramento California.
It was such a wonderful day.

Christmas Eve

We had such a fun Christmas Eve. A little different this year. We are used to big family parties. We decided to stay home in St. George this year. We missed the big parties and visiting with family, but we had a great time on our own. I can't really say we were on our own, we spent it with Tylers brother and his family. We had dinner at our house and then went to the St. George temple to see the Nativity and lights. We quickly came home, due to excited kids. We opened our Chritmas pajamas from my parents and then read a story that Grandma and Grandpa Olson had given the girls. We talked about the TRUE meaning of Christmas before we put out milk and cookies and the Reindeer food. We also had to put glitter on the ground so the reindeer could spot our house. We had a great night and the girls went to sleep very quickly.

Such a great BIG SISTER!!

I need to first off, apologize to my mom. I have been promising her for a week that the rest of christmas would be posted. So sorry mom, soon, I promise. Keep checking back.

The other day we were outside playing. Avery was counting the BIG trucks going by. (Our front door faces the freeway.) She then started pumping her arm up and down trying her hardest to get the BIG trucks to honk their horns at her. Her sister ran over and Avery started teaching Adi how to do it. It was the cutest thing. They didn't have any luck with the trucks, but a few cars honked at my pretty girls.

Lots of updates and pictures

I am finally updating out busy month of December. It was a fun fun busy month. Scroll down because there are lots of post. Pictures of Christmas day will soon come.

The long awaited Christmas package

My parents sent a Christmas package, and the girls knew it was coming. They asked everyday if today was the day it would arrive. When that delivery truck pulled up, my girls were jumping with excitement. I have to admit, I was just as excited. My parents sent them things that they could use before Christmas. Christmas movies, coloring books, candy cane lip gloss, ect. Every year my mom, aunts, grandma and a few cousins get together for cookie day. They all make a different cookie and divide them. I miss that tradition. Talking, hot chocolate, Christmas music, and baking. I get homesick, just writing about it. Well, I was excited to find 7 Christmas tins with different kinds of cookies in them. (great, now I am crying as I type.) They all sent me yummy cookies. My mom even sent snickerdoodles because she knows they are my favorite. We were so excited to get the package in the mail. They also go packages from Great grandma and grandpa Kaiser and Great grandma and grandpa Thomas. They got lots of mail the month of December. I think they are having mail withdrawls.

A visit with SANTA

We took the girls to the mall to see Santa. Adi was not thrilled, and would not let us put her down from the second we got out of the car. She wanted nothing to do with him, but Avery went willingly as long as we were close. She did ask why he smelled like smoke. Whoops santa!! I think Santa should give up a habit if he is going to be around kids. JUST MY OPINION!!!
Averys favorite christmas song was I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus, and was waiting for me to kiss him. So funny. Sorry Ave, remember he was stinky????

My Helper

Avery and I made Christmas cookies one afternoon. I took them out of the oven and walked out of the room for a few minutes. I hear some noises coming from the kitchen and saw Avery finishing the cookies. She put the wax paper on the counter and was using the spatula to get them off the pan. Usually I would stop her because the pan is hot, but she was doing such a good job and was being so careful. She was so proud of herself. I love this little girl so much. Yes, she is wearing shorts and a t-shirt. That is all she wears while in the house. She is not a cold weather girl.

Gingerbread houses

It is an Olson tradition to make gingerbread houses every Christmas. It is a fun tradition, and I am so happy that it is being carried on for my girls to enjoy. Jeff and Sharon came to St. George for a visit, and brought all the nessisary items to make the houses. We had so much fun. My girls spent more time eating the treats than they did decorating the house. You can see the chocolate on Averys face in the Rudolph pictures. Avery could not wait to eat the treats off the house and would ask everyday, but the rule was, NOT UNTIL AFTER christmas. That was hard for her, but she stayed strong. You better believe the day after Christmas she started sneaking treats.
